County Park Committee Skirts Around Sea Ranch Access Issue |
Date |
1968/02/08 |
Scope & Content |
Santa Rosa Press Democrat, Feb.8, 1968. This article is a report on the Sonoma County's Park and Recreation Advisory Committee meeting on Feb. 7,1968. In response to the Planning Commision's request for a solid recommendation from the committee on access through The Sea Ranch, no decision was reached, because of lack of sufficient voting members and admission of insufficient information. Oceanic Properties had indicated that beach access was to be provided, and the issue is whether it should be at several points along the length of the development, or a park at the mouth of the Gualala River, at the north end. There was agreement that the eight year old beach and shoreline master plan needed to be updated. (This article is an early indication of the access controversy whichis brewing) |
