Material related to The Commons Landcape Committee. From the 2011 Midwinter report of the Commons Lanscape Committee: "The Landscape Task Force and its successor, the Commons Landscape Committee, were formed to establish and carry out a planning process for managing change in The Sea Ranch landscape. As the forest, meadows and riparian areas are altered through the dynamics of natural process and maintenance activities related to fire safety and the ecology of the place, special attention must be given to preservation of the community’s distinctive character and its opportunities for enjoyment. The Commons Landscape Committee (CLC) is an operations committee of The Sea Ranch Association serving under the Community Manager as authorized by the Board of Directors at its meeting of December 11, 2010. The primary purpose of the CLC is to work with Association members and staff to prepare comprehensive landscape management plans for The Sea Ranch Commons considering aesthetics, fire safety, views, wildlife habitats, drainage and related values of Commons. The secondary purpose of the CLC is to establish a stewardship program to involve members in the care of the Commons landscape in the vicinity of their properties. In carrying out these two purposes, the CLC expects that members who participate in the process will gain understanding of the complexity and variety of The Sea Ranch landscape and new perspectives on how to resolve issues." |
