Board Mulls Public Access At Sea Ranch |
Date |
1968/02/07 |
Scope & Content |
Santa Rosa Press Democrat, 2/7/1968, article concerning growing concern about public access to beaches at The Sea Ranch raised by a letter from Redwood chapter of the Sierra Club. First indication in this collection of access issue. Sonoma County Supervisors are faced with policy decision on public access to the 10.5 miles of Sea Ranch ocean frontage. In an earlier private luncheon meeting of questionable legality between Oceanic officials and four supervisors, Oceanic Properties proposed a public park at the north end of the Sea Ranch where the Gualala River enters the sea. The Sierra Club is asking for "numerous" pedestrian accesses along the coast. |
