In a letter to Supervisor Ignacio Vella, Joseph McClelland, Oceanic Properties Project Director, responds to/rebuts 2/2/68 Press Democrat article (see 2001.97.1.7) which presents Vella's views on public coastal access on The Sea Ranch development. McClelland states there has never been an MOU between Oceanic Properties and Sonoma County regarding unrestricted public access, that Oceanic Properties has followed in good faith plans and guidelines developed with the Sonoma County Planning Commission, and that at this time Oceanic Properties is prepared to offer at no cost to the County of Sonoma 100 acres at the mouth of the Gualala River for the development of a regional park. |
